How to Replace a Bath Fan Motor

Release the wire spring-clasps by squeezing together the two wire spring arms on each side of the cover. This will release the plastic cover. Set the cover aside.
 
Unplug the fan electrical plug from its socket.
 
Use a flat-head screwdriver to remove the two screws securing the fan bracket to the housing. These will be located on opposite sides of the fan motor housing.

Remove and set aside the inoperative fan unit.
 
Orient the replacement fan in the fan housing to ensure that the securing screw holes in the fan assembly align with the holes in the fan housing. Replace the two screws using.
 
Plug the electrical plug into the socket in the fan bracket housing.

Turn on the wall switch to test the fan operation before replacing the fan cover.

Position the plastic fan motor cover with the two wire spring-clasps on each side directly below the slots in the fan base. Squeeze the two spring wire arms together until they can be inserted into the wire slots. Insert the wire arms and then release, allowing the wire arms to spring into place in the slots.
